Resources for learning Brahm’s German Requiem

A message from Robin during the recent snow:

Dear all

Feel a bit guilty that your paying me to accompanying virtuallyJ  So I thought tonight I would put the first movement of the Brahms requiem into my software.   Originally I have not planned to put the words in – wanted it so I could play all the vocal lines at once – but have now done it (german words) so the attached is a version you can use to practice singing from, I haven’t put all the phrasing/dynamics in but you can watch the third youtube video below and add them as it goes along, or copy it from the English edition for those of you who have it.


There are loads of german recordings of it on youtube  here are some I found with my comments!!:   – this one shows you the score as its playing – a version with piano – good choir ignore all the noises at the beginning!  – a piano duet version – good sound quality – unnecessary overly conducted at start?
